What is DevOps & platform engineering?

DevOps is the practice of automating and streamlining how software goes from a developer's commit to running in production — builds, tests, deployments, and the infrastructure underneath. Platform engineering takes it further: building the internal tooling and "paved roads" that let every engineer ship safely without becoming an infrastructure expert.
